The Change is a Clow Card with the power to cause two people to switch bodies. It is aligned under The Dark.

It is one of the fifty-three Clow Cards in the anime.

Appearance[]

CCS EP32 - The Change Charging — The main body of The Change.

The Change's main body appears to be a blue, vaguely chameleon-like creature with great, orange eyes. It shoots out its tongue to switch objects around like a real chameleon does to capture prey. In card form, it is white with small, green eyes and long, wing-like ears.

Magic and Abilities[]

Swapping Magic: The Change is able to swap the minds and bodies of two people. This swap can only occur once a day, and if a change is not reverted after some time, it becomes permanent.

Fortune Telling: All Clow Cards have the ability to help their user predict the future. Their method of fortune-telling is similar to that of tarot cards. The interpretation of the message the Clow Cards relay depends on the magical power of the user.

Synopsis[]

Clow Cards arc[]

Syaoran Li and Cerberus become victims of Change's ability, resulting in a rather unique day at school and at home, before Sakura is able to reverse their switched minds a day later (Episode 32).

Sakura Cards arc[]

Change is transformed into a Sakura Card in Episode 53 during Sakura's frantic wave of transformations.

The Change appears to based on a chameleon.
The Change is the first card The Nothing card steals from Sakura.^[1]
On the card, The Change has small, green eyes; yet in the anime, it's eyes are large and red.
When switching over, the body keeps the original voice, but not the dialect or way of speaking.
The kanji at the top of the card: 替, (Pronounced 'kawa') means 'substitution' in Japanese.
